MACSTAR 1110
GENTLE TO SHAFT – SLEEVE & COMBATS ABRASIVES
Macstar 1110 is a soft, supple product launched to take care of & seal abrasive slurries, at elevated temperatures with higher rpm. It can handle a broad-based pH range of 1 to 13. It has all the good qualities of Macstar 1010. The qualities are enhanced by the special heat carrying duct and lubrication channels (within the product fibres), which carries away heat generated due to friction & internal temperature of fluid. Lubrication channels provide additional lubrications in operations. Thus the service life of the product goes up substantially. Secondly, a new method of manufacturing makes this very soft and flexible. This allows Macstar 1110 to seal the gland box completely & thus control the leakages. This product is compatible with Macstar Pac-Ex 212 HP and can be used in combination.

MACSTAR – 4000
- A packing with all advantages of Kevlar, excellent lubrication, stable in temp., capable of providing good sealing.
- Composite fiber made to check instability of Kevlar due to thermal expansion. Made with high strength Kevlar 49 with combination. This thirsty fiber picks up @ 70% PTFE. Therefore becomes very dense requiring very low gland tightening.
- pH 2-12, temp. 260°C with occasional surge upto 280°C.
- Works excellently in slurries, effluent treatment, ammonia pump and any other general services.

Criticality
- Solid particles to be transferred at low and intermediate speed with high pH. Inorganic compound gets converted to sharp solid particles due to frictional heat.
- Solid particles enters sleeve area, rubs against packing as well as sleeve damaging both sleeve and gland packing.
- Heavy fluctuation in pH level may occur, fluctuation in heat flux lead in change of viscosity of fluid.

- Outer end strong ring takes all abrasive attacks, prevents the solid sharp edged particles to enter gland area.
- Takes the impact load of slurry/fluid and protects inner composite rings.
- The inner composite rings are designed to take care of leakages.
- Leakage up to certain extent is important in dynamic application as it cools the gland surface and keeps gland lubricated. But in case of Macseal, the lubrications is provided by internal composite construction.
- The inner composite material lubricates the glands as well as keeps the shaft and sleeve in cool running condition.
- Bare minimum leakage rate can be maintained and sustained.
- The composite material has very good heat dissipation property, which never allows heat to be accompanied on sleeve surface.
- No bearing is damaged as no moisture percolates towards bearing.
- The composite inner packing takes care of minors scoring on sleeves and shaft leading reduced leakage rate.

Pac Ex 212 HP has a very high service life. In case of excessive leakage just add small quantity of Pac Ex to the gland. There is no need to change the entire packing.
