CORRONIL - CW

Single product treatment for Chilled Water System

CORRONIL ??? CW is a powerful corrosion inhibitor for closed loop recirculating chilled water. This is environmentally friendly ??? non-chromate treatment which forms protective coating on any metallic surface ??? ferrous or non ferrous metals.?? This coating takes care of corrosive attacks of water on piping, valves, heat exchangers etc. The strong polymeric dispersant keeps the internal free of scales.

FEATURES

  • All organic chemical.
  • Environment friendly.
  • Rapidly form strong protective coating on ferrous & non-ferrous metal surface.
  • Can take care of both corrosion & deposits.
  • No supplementary pH booster or buffer program required.
  • No load on biocidal program.
  • Easy to use, operate & maintain.

BENEFITS

  • Corronil CW will keep heat transfer surface clean with minimal corrosion.
  • No frequent cleaning will be required resulting in savings of manpower, chemical & maintenance cost. Equipment life is also enhanced due to less use of unwanted cleanings & chemicals. Corronil CW helps to avoid unwanted shutdowns & cost associated with such shutdowns as it keeps system clean & protected.
  • Corronil CW minimizes energy expenses & costs due to improved system efficiency.

Recommended dosages

  • Corronil ??? CW is to be added directly into make up water in the ratio of 15 gms. per litre basis.

ABOUT CHILLING SYSTEM

Chiller system mainly has reciprocating or centrifugal compressor and Freon as refrigerant. The hot compressed refrigerant vapours first pass through a water cooled condensor (shell & tube type of heat exchanger) where it is cooled & condensed into the liquid. From there it passes into an evaporator (chiller) where it boils under reduced pressure into a cool vapour. The boiling liquid is used to extract heat, chilled water goes to process and the vapour is compressed again to repeat the cycle.

The chilled water circuit is not open to the atmosphere and is known as a closed recirculating system.

The problems that occur on water side of the system are

  • Formation of scales on heat transfer tubes.
  • Corrosion of metals and deposition of corrosion products.
  • Microbial fouling.
  • Fouling & deposition from dirt, dust, silt accumulation.
  • Leakages.

The scale & fouling deposits cause poor heat transfer reducing the efficiency and increasing energy cost. Corrosion causes failure of system parts, resulting in expensive repairs and/or replacements.

The leakages of chilled water, Freon etc in another concerne area which needs to be tackled on the emergency level as it drains the energy and make up cost increases, housekeeping cost goes up and may results in unwanted shutdown.

The ???Safe-n-Healthy chilled water circuit??? programme aims to make the system safer, smoother and at the highest peak of efficiency. Safety is because no leakages and healthier because of preventive maintenance practices & no leakage & with deposit free operation.
